Duties and Responsibilities
  • Analyze data of in-place procedures to find ways to improve operations

  • Obtain and analyze shipping quotes from various carriers and logistics providers.

  • Take charge of the shipping processes, generate RFP (Request for Proposal) documents, and communicate effectively with customers to ensure smooth daily operations.

  • Evaluate and recommend improvements to the shipping quote process.

  • Coordinate and monitor shipping activities to ensure timely and accurate delivery of products.

  • Track and manage shipping schedules, providing real-time updates to relevant stakeholders.

  • Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation related to operations.

  • Updating databases with logistics data (rates, carriers, order numbers, tracking numbers, etc.)

  • Identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, or other areas of concern and propose solutions to streamline operations and enhance overall performance using insights.

  • Be responsible for the Claims Management process: Investigate and resolve shipping-related claims promptly and efficiently. Verifies data and processing requirements and makes corrections as necessary.

  • Collaborate with carriers and internal teams to address and mitigate the impact of claims.

  • Shipping and Fulfillment Audit: Perform comprehensive audits of shipping and fulfillment processes to identify areas for improvement. Analyze data and metrics to enhance efficiency and reduce operational costs.

  • Leverage data to develop custom analytics/reporting tools using business intelligence tools

  • Ensure clean and accurate reporting flows directly to leadership and upper management.

  • Investigate inventory discrepancies: Conduct regular inventory audits to identify and resolve discrepancies, collaborate with warehouse teams to implement corrective actions, and improve inventory accuracy.

Skills and qualifications

  • Being familiar with International Shipping & Logistics datasets is a bonus

  • Consulting and project management skills

  • Mathematical skills to process complex calculations

  • In-depth knowledge of distribution and shipping methods

  • Strong analytical skills to interpret data and metrics

  • Problem-solving skills to take quick and decisive action when the supply chain breaks down

  • Strong multitasking and time management skills

  • Familiarity with logistics tracking software, spreadsheets, word processors, and email

  • Consistent track record of being able to work independently and proactively engage in tasks with minimal direction

 

Requirements

 

  • 2+ years of experience in the Logistics Industry or related industry as an operations analyst in an operation or research analyst role or a related position

  • English, strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or related field required.

  • Proficient with Excel and other analytics tools and database management

  • Organized and detail-oriented, focusing on accuracy and precision.
